Note Analyzer

The Note Analyzer turns a free-form note into a list of tasks and a structured project — all from one click.

How to trigger

Click the lightning bolt button in the top-right of the note pane (next to the Record and Share buttons).

The analyzer does not run automatically. It only runs when you ask.

What you'll see

A panel slides in from the right with two sections:

Project preview (top)

Cadeo always proposes a project — name, description, and sections. The fields are pre-filled but editable. If your note is mixed (e.g. design thoughts and a few personal todos), Cadeo picks the dominant theme as the project name and mentions the mix in the description; you can rewrite either field before saving.

Click Create project to:

  • Create the project with the proposed (or edited) name and description
  • Add all detected tasks under the right sections
  • Link the project back to the source note

You'll see one calm snackbar — "Creating project, sections and tasks" with a small spinner — that updates to "Created project [name] with N tasks" once everything is saved.

Detected tasks (below)

Each detected task has an individual Create button. Use this when you only want one or two of the suggestions, not a whole project. Each created task is linked back to the source note.

If you create individual tasks first and then click "Create project", only the remaining (un-created) tasks are added to the project.

Priority

Detected tasks are tagged with a priority based on cues in your text:

  • "urgent", "asap", "blocker" → P1 (high)
  • default → P3 (low)
  • "someday", "maybe" → P3 (low)

You can change priority on each task after creation in the usual way.

Plan availability

Desktop users always have it for free because the AI runs locally on your machine.

What if I'm out of daily AI quota?

Free and Personal plans have a daily request cap. If you hit it, the analyzer panel shows a "Daily AI quota reached" message. Three options:

  • Wait until tomorrow (the cap resets at midnight UTC)
  • Upgrade your plan
  • Add your own API key (BYOK) — when BYOK is configured, the daily cap is lifted because the cost is yours, not Cadeo's

Pro plans have unlimited AI requests by default.

Tips

  • The AI works best on notes with a few clear lines per task. Stream-of-consciousness reflection produces fewer task suggestions than a "three things to do today" list — that's by design.
  • The proposed project name is a starting point. If you don't like it, edit before clicking Create.
  • The Create button on each task creates it as a standalone task linked to the note, with no project. Use this for one-off captures.
