Recording Audio
Cadeo lets you record audio directly within your notes. Use audio recording for quick voice memos, capturing thoughts, or recording one-on-one conversations.
Starting a Recording
- Open any note
- Click the microphone icon in the recording section
- Grant microphone permission if prompted
- Start speaking — a live waveform shows your audio levels
Stopping a Recording
Click the Stop button to end your recording. Cadeo immediately:
- Uploads the recording
- Begins automatic transcription
- Shows a progress indicator (e.g., "Transcribing... 45%")
To discard a recording without saving, click Cancel instead.
Recording Playback
After stopping, a playback bar appears with:
- Play/pause and seek controls
- Duration and file size
- Generate Transcript — re-transcribe if needed
- Download Recording — save as MP3 or WebM
- Delete Recording — permanently remove
Recording Indicators
While recording, you'll see:
- A red blinking dot indicating active recording
- A live waveform responding to your audio levels
- An elapsed time counter updating every second
Warnings
- Silence warning — if 5+ minutes of silence, you'll get a notification
- Long recording warning — recordings over 2 hours trigger a warning

Crash Recovery
If your browser or app closes unexpectedly during recording, Cadeo auto-saves progress every 30 seconds. When you return, the system detects the unfinished recording and offers to resume or discard it.
