Recording Audio

Cadeo lets you record audio directly within your notes. Use audio recording for quick voice memos, capturing thoughts, or recording one-on-one conversations.

Starting a Recording

  1. Open any note
  2. Click the microphone icon in the recording section
  3. Grant microphone permission if prompted
  4. Start speaking — a live waveform shows your audio levels

Stopping a Recording

Click the Stop button to end your recording. Cadeo immediately:

  • Uploads the recording
  • Begins automatic transcription
  • Shows a progress indicator (e.g., "Transcribing... 45%")

To discard a recording without saving, click Cancel instead.

Recording Playback

After stopping, a playback bar appears with:

  • Play/pause and seek controls
  • Duration and file size
  • Generate Transcript — re-transcribe if needed
  • Download Recording — save as MP3 or WebM
  • Delete Recording — permanently remove

Recording Indicators

While recording, you'll see:

  • A red blinking dot indicating active recording
  • A live waveform responding to your audio levels
  • An elapsed time counter updating every second

Warnings

  • Silence warning — if 5+ minutes of silence, you'll get a notification
  • Long recording warning — recordings over 2 hours trigger a warning

Crash Recovery

If your browser or app closes unexpectedly during recording, Cadeo auto-saves progress every 30 seconds. When you return, the system detects the unfinished recording and offers to resume or discard it.
