Keyboard Shortcuts

Work faster with these keyboard shortcuts.

Global Shortcuts

These work anywhere — the Cmd ones even while you're writing (so Cmd+K opens the command bar from inside a note; with text selected, Cmd+K adds a link instead). Press ? outside a text field to see them all in the app — it lists your current bindings, and you can rebind any of them in Settings → General → Keyboard Shortcuts.

Go-to keys (web and desktop)

In the browser, Cmd+1…Cmd+6 and Cmd+Shift+N belong to the browser itself, so Cadeo also has letter keys that work anywhere you're not typing — and the command bar and the ? sheet show these on the web:

In the browser, its own Back and Forward buttons work the same way, and reloading keeps your place.

Task Lists

With no text field focused, the keyboard moves through the task list on screen. The selected task is also what the command bar's quick actions act on.

J / ↓	Select the next task
K / ↑	Select the previous task
Enter	Open the selected task
R	Rename the selected task in its row — Enter saves, Escape cancels
Space	Complete (or reopen) — with Undo
S / D	Schedule / set deadline
T	Schedule for today
[ / ]	Move a day earlier / later
M / @	Move to a project / an area
# / !	Tags / priority
Backspace	Delete — it goes at once, with Undo in the message for a few seconds (marked tasks ask first)
Option+↑ / Option+↓	Move the task up / down (Tasks and Planner lists)
X	Mark the task — then Space, T, [ ] and Backspace act on every marked task at once
Escape	Clear the marks, then the selection

The same J / K and Enter work on notes in the Notes, project and area lists; on a selected note, M, @ and # file and tag it, E archives it and Backspace deletes it.

System-wide shortcuts (desktop)

These work while Cadeo runs in the background — even when another app is focused. Customize, disable, or reset each one in Settings → General → Global Shortcuts (desktop app only; bindings are per-device).

Tip: Cmd+Shift+K is a comfortable choice for the command bar. If a combination is already taken by another app, Cadeo shows a notice and keeps your previous binding.

Meeting Transcripts
