Natural Language Dates

Type dates and times naturally when creating tasks.

How It Works

As you type in any task input, Cadeo detects date and time phrases and highlights them in blue. Press Enter to apply the detected schedule.

Supported Formats

Phrases work whether they appear at the start or end of the input — "tomorrow buy milk" and "buy milk tomorrow" both schedule for tomorrow.

Canceling Detection

If Cadeo detects a date you don't want:

  1. Press Tab to dismiss all highlights in the input, or click a single highlighted phrase to dismiss just that one
  2. The highlight is removed and the phrase becomes regular task title text
  3. Press Enter to save — the task is created without any schedule

Examples

  • "Buy groceries tomorrow" → Scheduled for tomorrow
  • "Call mom next Monday at 3pm" → Monday at 3:00 PM
  • "Review report Friday" → This Friday
  • "Submit proposal in 2 days" → 2 days from now
tip

Natural language works in Inbox, Planner, and Project task inputs — including the Kanban board and sectioned list quick-add rows on iOS. A live preview of parsed date, time, priority, and tags appears as you type.
